Until recently, CCI MINI MAG hollow points have been fairly available here. Not any more. they are gone from the shelves and a couple of major internet vendors. What you do see is a fair amount of remington golden bullet and WW bulk pack ammo. I have found the mini mag to be consistent and reliable but have learned not to go to the range with the remington or ww bulk loads without a cleaning rod to remove stuck bullets. This has been the case for several years and continues to be so. I recently got through nearly a 50 round box of WW 22 lr before one stuck in the barrel of my k22. About every fourth shot ( not on the same chamber) would give off a muted report with the bullet hitting low on the target.
The bulk remingtons look just like the Golden Bullets sold in 50 round boxes. For whatever reason, I have had no problems with the small boxes but regularly stick bullets from the bulk packs. Just two weeks ago, a friend was sighting in his H&R .22 single shot and had several squibbs with the bulk remingtons.
I have heard complaints about federal 22s but have had no such problems with those.

I bought a bunch of Remington back when you got a Remington cupful of ammo.
About 1 round in every ten is a dud no matter which pistol I try them in.

Who'd have thought that a day would come when ammo with a name like Aguilla would be the most reliable you could get? Eley primed, no less.

It's just a crummy world we're leaving for our chillens.

Thats interesting and timely. some of it just showed up here. The only Aguilla I've tried has been those cb loads-not as accurate as a cci mini cap but they do go off. The heavy bullet load works well too.

Those remingtons my friend had had the bullets so loose that they wobbled around. We figured they would fail to function in an autoloader.

BIG thumbs up for Aguilla! My Cheetah loves their Super Max Loads and my 617 is very accurate with some of their subsonic stuff.

Naturally it seems to be cleaned out from the usual places I would buy it at.

I have noticed the same thing about CCI Mini mags. That is all I shoot out of my Marlin 39a and although I have a good stash, I don't see anymore around besides at Walmart every once and a while. Which is funny because only a few months ago, CCI was the ONLY thing on the shelf because it cost a little more than other .22's

CCI did a good a better job than the other companies keeping the distributors supplied with primers right up until the last election. they kept up a good supply of rimfire ammunition until just a month or so ago-well after most of the centerfire stuff disappeared. I expect they'll get the mini mags and other .22s out as soon as possible.

The last couple of boxes of federal game shok .22s I found at a local Academy store were consistent and reliable but they have been gone for half a year or more. The last rimfires to go around here were the silver boxed winchester westerns. Just as well as they had many squibbs, bullets stuck in the barrel and outright duds.
