So back around 12/19 i bought a DDM4V1 that came with only 1 pmag (bad thing in the current enviorment). Couldnt get any mags any where at any time except for Tapcos and knock offs.

I missed a shot at getting some on 12/26 that were about an hours drive from here (probably could have made it).

Now on to what happened yesterday. Within minutes of the Presidents speech i got a notification from DSGS arms that my 10rd holiday pack of pmags had shipped (with one additional pmag with the window in it). I have a tracking number. No word yet on the other orders i placed. My brother has 2 of those 10 packs orderd on 12/27 and i have a 10pck of the Teflon coated GI mags with pmag followers on order along with a motley assortment of pmags in various colors, generations and with windows....

Then i booted up my email and suddenly an email from Cheaper than Dirt "we have High capacity mags"....

At first i had thought nothing of it but after the second email, it occured to me that the vendors were holding back all their shipments pending political announcements....driving up demand and creating panic and political pressure. It looks like they opened the flood gates "just a little" yesterday after realizing this was going to get tied up in congress for several months.

FWIW i was easily able to buy 3 more high cap mags for my sig 229 back on 12/26.

I love shooting.....ill be glad when this is over so i can start finding ammo again.

Cheaper Than Dirt is on my list of "never do business with again" as a result of their recent price gouging anyway, so I've made is a point just igore any announcements they make.

I hope everyone else does the same.

Why would the vendors not want to sell as many mags as possible, even if a possible ban was a lot closer?

I would think it would be the other way around- ship them out ASAP, if there is a ban on new sales and/or confiscation, that's not their problem.

Unless the manufacturers have finally started to catch up and are shipping again?

Speculation, plain and simple. Also, by controlling supply, they can attempt to artificially control price.

They were holding partial shipments waiting for all items in the order to ship together, but after the speech and other nonsense they all decided to ship whatever they had in stock as a partial order so they don't get stuck with a bunch of illegal to sell inventory.
