I'm not sure how to frame this but it's a pet peeve of mine.

So on another forum I read a discussion about a guy who left a gun at his son's house and his son is driving it halfway across the country to return it to him.

I don't know what the poster's reasoning is I just know that he says that his son is delivering the gun to him by car.

He doesn't know the laws of the states his son will be driving through and instead of going and looking on handgunlaw.us or looking up the relevant State Statutes or even typing in "Can I carry a gun in my car in this state (which will usually lead you right to the State Patrol website which will tell you what you have to do to transport a gun across their state)?"
The poster decides to get on the internet and ask a bunch of random people who won't be there when his son gets pulled over in Hooterville and ask them what they think.

Even understanding FOPA (which not every state recognizes) why would you bet your freedom on the ramblings of some random internet person that you don't even know?

I realize that there are other applications but transporting Firearms is usually the context I see it in.
