Has anyone heard of a book called "Race Against Evil: The Secret Missions of the Interpol Agent Who Tracked the World's Most Sinister Criminals" by David Race Bannon? I heard this guy interviewed on NPR a month or so back and was dumfounded by what he was "revealing." I ordered the book, read half and now just feel dumb, as in suckered. He purports to have been an assassin for Interpol whose chief duties involved finding and "cleaning" child-porn profiteers. The prose is so purple and the situations so cliched that I'm 99% convinced that this guy is another Chuck Barris selling never-can-tell fiction as fact. One of his many incongruous claims is that no matter how much he practiced, he could never hit the side of a barn with a pistol. Contrasts to his assertion that he was a master at hand-to-hand combat, with high-degree black belts in more than one discipline and expert knife-fighting skills. Just like the microsurgeon who has trouble tying his shoes I suppose.
