I have a unique business and I have been thinking a great deal of my situation. Right now, I have a home-based business that allows me to live anywhere in the country. I have been thinking I may try to live in Oregon for about 7-8 months of the year and in Florida for the other 4-5 months.
My question is in regard to conceal carry. I am a resident of the state of Oregon, but I hold both an Oregon and Washington state conceal carry permit. I was checking out http://www.carryconcealed.net and according to its list my Oregon permit is not honored by Florida, but my Washington state permit is honored by Florida, even if I am a non-resident of Washington.
What I would like to ask people here is if this information is 100% correct? Is there any office, like Sheriff, etc, that I can call in Florida that can confirm if this information is correct? If this information is correct, does that mean I am legally eligible to conceal carry in Florida already, without a Florida permit?
Because, I am a resident of Oregon and as of now I am planning on living in Florida, part of the year, I am not really sure about setting up dual-state residencies. I was thinking it would avoid a lot of hassle if I could just be a resident of one-state , but I don't want to lose my right to carry when I am living in Florida.
I just looked at usacarry.com and it claims Florida does not honor non-resident WA conceal permits. This is conflicting with the information given to me by carryconcealed.net. Well, I suppose for now, I will give the benefit of the doubt to the usacarry.com's statement that it will not be honored. I guess my final question would be then, can I apply for a Florida conceal carry permit if I am an out-of-state or temporary resident?
I would appreciate any information people here can give me on this subject. There is also a chance I may relocate to some other southeastern state instead, so any information about those other states would be welcomed, as well.
