Interested in buying another .22 LR just for plinking. I already have a .22 blot action, so I want to buy a semi. The question is: I want to buy one that looks meannnnnn...n:p Is there a .22 LR semi that looks military AW alike, with pistol grip, detachable magazine, and other cool features making it mean looking?

Ruger 10/22 and alike is too sporter alike? Cannot I find such a factory rifle? I don't want it to be super accurate, just good enough for plinking, but it should be reliable. AR .22 LR conversion is possible, are there any other choices?

The best is the Calico...probably not too easy to find though and not cheap anymore.

They used to make all sorts of "assault rifle" dress up kits for 10/22's, even bull-pup conversions and such....this is probably your best route.

There are advantages to the AR conversion though for cheap training purposes on a common platform.

Personally I like my "sporty" Ruger 10/22 with the "international" Mannlicher stock.

A dedicated .22LR upper would be my choice.

OMG! That's a Walther?! I thought it looked like a Hipoint carbine at first. This thing is likely more refined..... I'd hope. :p

Yep, Rupestris, that is the stock I have on my 10/22. I like it quite a bit. It's light, comfy and makes the 10/22 a bit more EBRish :D

Couldn't find a decent pic of my actual 10/22. Looks much like the pic you posted though. :)

I have a DPMS .22 upper for an AR15. I have used it with 2 Bushmaster lowers and 1 Rock River lower.

The Rock River was picky with ammo. It wanted the hot/expensive stuff.

The Bushmasters will run anything I put through them 100%. This upper is the best gun money I have ever spent period. DPMS sells the entire rifle in .22 in various configurations/lengths etc. if you do not already have an AR15 lower.

IMO it doesn't get any better than this. It looks identical to a full caliber AR15 less the magazine, is extremely accurate, fun, cheap to shoot and gives you the option of adding a full caliber AR15 upper in the future.

Here is a link to a previous write up I did on my upper with links to some rather big pictures.

ERMA m-1? Anyone with opinions on these? I think Iver Johnson imported these.

yeah I would also like to know how much that walther G22 is.

I would really like someone to make a quality bullpup stock for 10/22 that is under 200 dollars.:cuss:

Wow, I didn't even know there are so many choices. Thanks a lot, guys! The next thing to do is to follow the links and find a satisfying one.:D

yeah I just read on AR15.com that the G22 retails for about 395 so street price is probably going to be closer to 340-350 :D I am gonna get one. a distibutor named Davisons will have them. The rifle is only 28 inches in length and has a 20 inch BBL w00t w00t w00t:D
