After putting the order last March 30 in Cabelas, the backorder for the 1858 Pietta Stainless Steel Target model arrived.
It's beautiful. I love the stainless steel and how it cleans. I've only fired it with the CCI #10 caps to test fire and clean it. I was amazed at how easy it was to remove the cylinder. I also like it's size where you can scare any intruder in your house when you point it at him and say, "Get out of my house." The trigger is a little heavy and crisp but I could live with that.
My only complaint is the rear sight. I was expecting that you could fix the windage and elevation with a simple twist of a screw. To adjust the windage, you'd have to completely unscrew both sides of the blade to move it left or right. Then there's the elevation adjustment. I thought the tightening or loosening of the screw on top would do the job. But the whole rear sight is held down by 2 large screws which won;t allow any elevation unless you lossen those too. Well. I guess I could live with that too.
