Hello Everyone,

I just bought one of the new Ithaca 37 shotguns (18-inch barrel, 7+1 shot tube, wood furniture) and noticed it does not have sling swivels. Having one put on the wood stock is rather obvious, but what about the front end of the shotgun?

I would like to use a standard sling with quick detatchable sling swivels if possible.

Thank you for the advice.

It helps to know what model. The standard model has a hole drilled and tapped at the bottom of the barrel lug. The swivel just screws into that. Some models have a free-floated barrel. Not sure where to put the swivel in the front on that one.

I got a sling swivel for my old M-37 from Numrich arms about a year ago. Then again, my Ithaca has the bottom lug on the barrel the swivel would screw into. Not having seen a new Ithaca up close, I have to ask you, is there anything like a lug on the barrel that holds the magazine stable or is the magazine tube pretty much free-floating on the receiver?
