For your info around 1964 they changed the barrel threads so the owner could swap barrels when he wanted. Those made prior had to be returned to factory and have them do it. I remember something about inch threads (old style and metric for the current and newer than '64ish threads.....Still like my old Ithaca even thou steel shot should probably not be shot thru it.Enjoy your Ithaca its light and makes a great hunting gun. IMHO much better than all the newer stuff offered out there. Never even replaced one part....afish4570
