I did that -- made sure to get myself a .45 while I was 45. Now I'm 48. Hmm, maybe a blackpowder something at 50.

The boy's got a lot of milestones ahead of him. .22LR. .25ACP (maybe skip that). .32 ACP or .32H&R. .38/.357 (but on the _36th_ birthday). .40 S&M. .45 ACP.

You can always get a nice vintage model 25 Smith & Wesson revolver for that milestone, ya know. Or, a nice old lever gun in .25 -20, or a bolt rifle in .25 -06.
