According to an email I got from Ruger their proclaiming "Today is Ruger Day" due in no small part to the special connection the date has to their 10/22 rifle. So here's my vintage rifle (circa 1978), complete with it's Weaver K2.5 scope. Would love to see what my fellow THR members have in the way of 10/22s.

Here's mine. It started its live as a $169.00 GrabaGun plastic stocked cheapy. I added the walnut stock which doubled my investment. The scope is a Weaver K4 4X-38. The only time I shoot at a target is when zeroing for whatever reason. It is my critter getter (ground hogs and armadillos) It is quite accurate having hit a ground hog in the heard with it at a range finder measured 70 yds and it has a factory trigger that rivals the BX (I've shot one with a BX)

Let's see... here's a couple of old pics of my suppressed one. It started its life as a stainless basic model in mid-late 90's and over the years I've added the Target -model laminate stock and have had the suppressor conversion made. This seems to be an old photo from 10 or so years ago, the vintage five-star Redfield scope and blued rings have been replaced with silver Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40 and stainless rings since.

Sorry, no pics. Mine is from 1986. It has a Bushnell 3x7 (I think) scope on it from about a year later. I defaced it in 2011 with the Tapco/Intrafuse setup, along with a Tapco sling. I began to miss wood-furnished .22 rifles after that (it had been my only rifle at that time) and began acquiring some vintage Marlins, including a pair of 99M1 models.

The Ruger is actually my go-to long gun for HD, with 25 rounds of CCI 40-grain MiniMags in its BX25 magazine.

1983 vintage, Burris 4x PA .22 scope. The stock flame didn't really pop until I removed the Ruger finish and replaced it with Truoil. It's my CMP .22 sporter gun and general knock around.
I have a hard time getting a good cheek weld with the scope but my days of shooting open sights other than aperture are long behind me.

That's right!....... Today is 10/22!..... Thanks for the reminder. As long as we're on that subject here's one that I've had since 1998. Serial number puts it at the latter 1980's IIRC . All factory original except for a 2-7x BSA in Weaver rings put on in 1999. Was gonna upgrade to a 2-7x Leupold someday but for general plinking and small game hunting the el-cheapo BSA works well enough that I decided to leave it on. Once upon a time I was tempted to trick it out with the endless variety of aftermarket stuff for 10/22's but after a lot of contemplation it was decided that a 10/22 is a nice little rifle as-is and that I was gonna continue to enjoy it as-is. I share your sentiment exactly. I love my accurate and reliable 10/22 just as it is.

I have two, the first is a 1968 carbine, the second is a deluxe I bought in 2006. Neither one is very accurate so they spend most of their time in the safe, while I shoot their bolt action friends.

Mine is a basic carbine, completely unmodified, with I don't know how many thousands of rounds down the pipe. Great little rifle.

no pic...for some unknown reason . MIne's a stainless on a syn. stock. Red dot scope from Bimart, just very fun little plinker. I did just replace the trigger, with Ruger's BX trigger, a most welcome improvement, well worth the Bimart sale price of 50 bucks. 2.5 lbs is sooo much better than 5.5.

The trigger would be about the only thing I'd consider changing on my unmodified 10/22. Those Ruger BX triggers could be a nice improvement and my gun would still be considered "stock" as it's a genuine Ruger factory part. The current trigger on it measures 6 lbs., 4 oz. on a Lyman digital gauge although it breaks cleanly there is still a lot of room for improvement there. A LGS had some BX triggers in stock last time I was in there but I didn't notice the price. An unmodified 10/22 is nice "as-is" but it would be so much nicer to appear "as-is" and have a sweet trigger...... I'm getting tempted.

Plain jane before shot.

I built it for a trainer for my son (he was 14 and wanted to go into the Army), he now owns it and uses it for raccoon with a 1-4 scope and a light.

My wife wants for me to install my 4X optic on “her” 10/22.

Yes. I already have a Leupold 4X rimfire. I guess before Sunday I best have it mounted.

Love my 10-22
Boyd's stock, ER Shaw Barrel, forgot who made the plastic recoil pin.
The plastic buffer pins have to be replaced every now and then (never had one fail, but they do get beat up over time). Money well spent for them IMO.

Started out the first 20 years of it's life with no mods.
