Hey guys.
I'm looking for a year of manufacture for a IJ Hammerless. I can tell by the spring it is not a black powder but want the actual year of manufacture. There are no patent stamps anywhere on the revolver.

It is cool that it came with the optional "western" grips as I don't see as many as compared to the rubber owl grips.
Weird that the frame had to be made from the factory to accommodate wood grips vs rubber with the only screw to hold them on being on the but of the grip.

It looks like from my research it was manufactured somewhere between 1909 & 1941.

S/N D98643

thanks
Brian

Answered in another forum.

"Your Iver Johnson Hammerless large frame revolver is a third model, third variation manufactured in 1929. There were 800 of these revolvers manufactured that year."

I need old gun guy's contact info. There is not much published on IJ revolvers and these threads come up all the time.
