I recently got an old Iver johnson .410 champion from a family member. I almost passed on it thinking it was just some old piece of junk that would take up space in the safe.
Then I got it home and checked it out and discovered that it is a very nice tight and seemingly well made little gun. Now it is one of my favorites!
Anyway just thought I'd share a little 410 story.

Iver Johnson, made some of the tightest and best quality single shot shotguns in this country. I've got a 20ga. Champion I bought new back in 1958, and still have that gun and yes it is as tight as when I first brought it home.

I'm the proud owner of a 16 ga. Iver Johnson Champion that's been in my family since it was brand new circa 1940. They weren't exactly high end shotguns, but more of a working class, utility type thing. But they were put together very nicely and were a good value for the money from what I've heard. Mine was reblued and the receiver was re-casehardened back in 1978 and it's still a beauty today. Still tight and I bet it locks up just as good as it did in 1940. They'll never be worth big bucks on the collector market or anything like that but they do kind of grow on you.
