Just to be clear this is who will replace Jay Leno at the SHOT show since he cancelled his appearance there, and not a discussion of Leno's TV work. Please keep this focused on the SHOT show.

I have heard his name and seen him interview with some talk show hosts and new talk shows and seems to have a very conservative mindset so I see how he may be a good fit for the crowd but has he had any public voice about his pro gun opinion or is he simply there to entertain? Is he going to speak or do magic tricks and tell jokes? All I know of him is from Penn and Teller were they do magic acts.

I guess I am not sure what Jay Leno OR Penn Gillette have to add. I have never heard them speak on the issue. I understand some of the politicians / celebrities that have been very outspoken on gun issues like Ted Nugent or Sarah Palin. Maybe even politicians like Sheriff David Clark.
 
Penn is very Libertarian and an all around great guy. To my knowledge he's not a big gun guy but believes in your right to RKBA. He even did an episode on how Gun Control is Bull**** (show name).
If he is in fact the replacement you guys are in for a treat. That would be combining two of the things I enjoy most in the world.
 
I liked Jackie Mason's evaluation of gun control advocates during that show.

While I'm disappointed that Leno caved in to the left-handed bullies, I have a greatr appreciation for the work and humor of Penn Jillette
