Hi all,

My grandfather has a JC Higgins Model 100 side by side 12ga. On the top of the right barrel it reads "Fabrica Aguirre y Araanzabal - Made in Spain" Above the left barrel it reads "J.C Higgins Model 100 Sears Roebuck and Company" And, in the middle it says "12 Gauge - 2 3/4" Shells." Towards the breech end of that inscription, is something but it looks to be scratched out.

Does anyone know what should or may have been there? My grandfather is in no condition to answer the question, and I have not been able to find anything on the web.

Thanks!

SuperXone on shotgunworld.com is the expert on AYA and Sears 100s. If anyone knows, it is him. He has a few of these AYAs and loves them.

Just go to Shotgun World and post this and call it to the attention of superXone. He is a MO lawyer and gun collector that can probably help you.

Probably the chokes. Here's part of a gunsamerica for sale ad.

"says J>C HIGGINS model 100 on one barrel, says Aguirre Y Aranzabal madein Spain on other barrel and solid matted rib says 12 ga 2 3/4 shells mod full."
