JC Higgins Model 31

Inherited this gun, not sure when, but finally pulled it out of the closet to clean it up and make it serviceable again. Mechanically seems sound, had a gunsmith check it out for me. Cosmetically, it's what a 56 year old gun looks like, which is not too bad. What it's missing is the butt for the stock. They're available online, but it says the butt plate trim is unavailable. There's no pic of it either. What does the butt plate trim look like? BTW, this model 31 does NOT have the retractable sling in the stock.

I'm guessing the buttplate trim is the white spacer that goes between the plate and the stock. You could probably fashion one from a sheet of white plastic, or the cover of a 3-ring binder or similar if you really want one.

Thanks! I'm working on the stock and forend now. Since mine does not have the retractable sling in the stock, there appears to been a metal plate or something there where the slot was for the sling. I can't find any pics of it. Anyone know what it looks like or where I could find one?
