I have a full size steel Baby Eagle, .40 S&W, on order that should be in next week. I'm 1911 and a CZ guy, so I partially based the purchase of the BE on fact that it is loosely based on the CZ design.

I have read mostly positives on the BE/Jericho guns. I would like to hear from some past and present owners about their experiences, i.e., overall build quality, reliability, accuracy, etc.

That was my first auto loader and I liked it very much. My only serious gripe was that it was heavy on my belt once I started carrying, but keep in mind i'm not a big guy. Mine was steel as well, but in .45. It had a great solid feel and fit my hand perfectly. The DA trigger was good if a little heavy, but the single action pull was very nice. By the time I sold it, it had smoothed out very nicely (about 2.5k rounds).

I think for a range or home defense weapon you would be hard pressed to find something much better. My baby eagle was reliable as anything else I shot; I did not hand load at the time but it took lots of winchester white box and walmart hollow points without a problem.

The fit and finish seemed very nice. One little rub was that the black finish seemed to wear/scratch a little too easily (just cosmetic). At the time, the pistol sure seemed to be more accurate than I was. One other issue was the lack of aftermarket parts like grips and holsters etc.

Other than weight (may not be a con for you), possible finish issue, and lack of aftermarket support, it was a great weapon and I would probably buy another.

let me know if you have any other questions

Mines just like yours except for chrome :D haha but it's great. I just hate how the slide is so small but that's just apart of the design. Everthing else is flawless.

A heads up for a 1911/CZ guy, remember the Baby Eagles no longer offer cocked and locked carry. They are now equipped with a slide mounted decocker and not the frame mounted safety of the CZ.

I found ONE poly semi-compact 9mm Jericho new at the last gun show here in DesMoines. Only the second one I have ever saw or held. The one before that I was able to hold for 5 seconds before the guy that held it before I did made the deal to by it for 525. I was a 40 though. The new 9mm was marked at 454 before tax and all. My new 40 will be here this Friday. I got mine thru gunbroker. Said and done to my FFL door 469.

I was checking out some websites for a Baby Eagle. I am rarely on the Auction Arms site, found a NIB .40 full size and the seller was taking offers. This particular pistol was at $400.00. Everywhere else they are selling for around $500.00 plus shipping. I placed an offer of $450.00 and I was the winner. Shipping is $25.00.

Hope it turns out to be something I like. We'll see.
