Join them, . end of discussion I don't agree with everything they say but the other two groups, while having victories in the legislative from are: Super-Anti ATF to the bone (JFPO) and a little on the tin foil side (GOA), now I am most certainly not a rabid NRA supporter (I'm not even a member)(yet) but right now they are the biggest and most visible group that makes sense and does not make us look anti gov via the MSM, in the end 25.00 (is that what it is) add another name they can use, I'm a member of SAF (How can I get off their call list as I hate getting phone solicitations) but still plan to join the NRA soon, But you can rest assured (anti NRA people here) if they screw us on something I'll get vocal.

As for writing levin it is a waste of time, I live in his district, you would be better to write Debbie Stabenow who is on the fence with these things (PS if you are a union worker writing to her,,,mention it).

Well, if you knew me you'd know I don't easily end discussions :)

...but you and some others make some compelling arguments and I am now looking at the membership info I got with my new Ruger .357 and thinking about sending it in.

I just joined up last weekend. Also joined a local member's only club / indoor range. They respectfully "request" that you join the NRA, so I did, no big deal. I also signed up for e-mail alerts from the Oregon Firearms Federation, a local pro-gun lobby group that fights for our rights with the state legislators, house, and senate. They send alerts with suggested responses to you can than forward on to our idiot legislators as e-mail responses to their various anti-gun bills. In the end, just do both. Why not attack with locally and federally at the same time.
