I saw a rifle that looks interesting. I didn’t know this company was even still around. I have one of their revolvers, a 357 Magnum from 1969. This one I saw is a Ceratech model, chambered in 6.5 PRC. From the reviews I’ve read, it may be on par with Tikka. 355BA31E-898D-4B90-9248-2ECB551E9926.jpeg FC798812-F1F2-4C2C-A0DC-FED7811C12BC.jpeg

Does anyone have one of these rifles? Likes/dislikes?

If it’s chambered in 6.5PRC, it’s custom or new.
But, yes, Sauer is still around, and making rifles, for the last 270-ish years.:)

STEVE HORNADY
President of Hornady Manufacturing Company

“We are delighted that Sauer, a highly respected German gunmaker that has been producing guns for over 267 years, has worked with Hornady to chamber a rifle in 6.5PRC. Sauer is the first European manufacturer to work with us to have a rifle chambered in a new caliber Hornady has developed at launch. This is a proud step for both companies.”

Sounds like a winning combination to me.

What are they going for in your neck of the woods?
Around here, it’s either, “what’s that?”, or they thinks it’s a Purdey and the first fifty thousand can take it.

The LGS had a 100. I think he had it confused with the 404. He wanted four thousand. (But not including the $250 scope...;))

That looks like a real nice rifle. I know a lot of folks are shooting the 130-140 gr or heavier and folks can do what they want, but I happen to have a box of the Sierra 120 gr. Pro Hunters I was looking at the other day. Those things look like a good old school hunting bullet.

same company as Sig Sauer. Their 200 and 400 series rifles look absolutely delicious, but they're beyond my pay grade. I keep one eye open for the 200 series, which they made lefty and sometimes sells for less than $2000 used.

Correct. Hammereli and JP Sauer and Sohn were bought by SIG in the 70s.

Ive got a 1916 JP Sauer and Sohn Gew98 thats in mint (sporterized) shape and cycles like new. I have no experience with the newer stuff though.
