Some of us are old enough that there is no way we could have held on to only two handguns after 40+ years of buying, selling and trading. (and yes, in the good old days you could sell or trade guns with people you had known for 20 years without having to go through government mandated paperwork. I hear that there are still a few free states where you still can.)
I couldn't limit to 2, but if my wife gets 2 as well, Glock 19, Ruger GP-100 6", Ruger 22/45 Mark III Target, Colt Diamondback. 22 6".

Ah good ol Kansas, where private firearm sales between two citizens are fully legal.

If I could only have two pistols, it'd be my colt woodsman target 22 and my colt 1917 army 45.

My 357 SA revolver with a 5.5” barrel and my Ruger Mark III.

Full load 357’s for hunting larger animals. 38’s for smaller game and target shooting. I reload 357’s and 38’s.

The Ruger for varmit control and all day fun plinking.

I think I could be very happy with just these 2.

Only two handguns for everything and anything? I'd opt for a Ruger Super Single Six ( having .22rf and .22 Magnum cylinders) sa revolver and a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible (having .357 Magnum and 9mm cylinders) sa revolver. If given a third one to have for ever and ever and only, given my first two selections, you can probably guess what I'd be choosing next...;)

No rifles, just handguns are "allowed".

Been weaning myself off the internet so I haven't been on this forum for I guess a year, just quit my last job (Security) and on an impulse decided to check out things. Well, not much has changed but I love playing games so I'll weigh in.

The SW city I worked in is nasty, especially at night. I always worked graveyard and am a level 3 so I got to see things the way they are, and things are worse than I thought. They're going to get much worse due to the new D's that took over including the Gov. Also been getting many (100's) of migrants that ICE is letting go and the Catholic Charities are bussing here. Even without the migrants things are just crazy.
When I started working I had usually 3 revolvers on me, my 65-1, 640-3 and M&P 340. Revolvers are good because there's nothing to remember except aim and squeeze. The problem was that though there were many single perp incidents most were crews, usually 4 bangers to a car, many times multiple cars. I needed better firepower and probably should have bought a G-17 but went with a M9A3. I could have bought 2 Glocks with my LE discount for the 1 Beretta but it's a done deal.
I believe if I had the ability to own 2 handguns only, knowing what I now know, both guns would have the same operating system, same caliber and interchangeability, for me this means a Glock 17 and a Glock 19.
I'm not hunting deer, I can plink cheap 9mm, I don't fly fish in Alaska but I do live in a concrete jungle with 2 legged savages.
I was never a Glock fan but I am now. Reliable, simple, light, easily customizable, inexpensive.
    Sorry for the long reply.
