My first uberti and for sure not my last, I love this gun the fit and finish is great, the action is smooth, no sharp edges on the hammer or trigger, nothing stamped on the barrel, just the proof marks, much nicer than my pietas, I also like the dove tail sights and loading lever latch, the frame is smaller than pietas the uberti 1858 44 pistol must be a couple ounces lighter than the pieta, to bad the cylinders arnt interchangeable I have 12 extra, also the balance on this gun is great you don’t even fill the weight, I hope it shoots as good as it looks and feels.

Tinpan, you're gonna have fun with that 1858 Remmie Carbine!!! I got one years ago, I call it my "muzzle-loading assault rifle" :)

The UPS guy brought me a package yesterday - a Pietta Remmie Sheriff. I already owned a 8" Uberti, but I gotta admit, this new Pietta ain't bad. With the beefier grip panels and short barrel, it has a nice "feel".

So, would you consider selling a couple of your Pietta cylinders?

Angel Eyes yeah, In the good the bad and the ugly their is a guy on the roof with one of these carbines he has tuco in his sights holding one hand around the barrel no glove on, a big no no with one of these, guns of the old west mag had a picture of a sheriff holding one by his side with one hand on the barrel with a leather glove on and the stock held between his elbow and side, saying this was the proper way to hold a revolving carbine, I am going to use both hands on the trigger guard.

as for the cylinders, I had 8 and just got 4 more today with this order, I have 2 8” and 2 5.5” pieta remmys, when i go to the range by myself i take 2 extra for each gun, because I wipe everything down every 18 rounds on the remmys, but sometimes family or friends come so that is why I am collecting so many extras, I spend so much time loading and trying to keep an eye on things it drives me crazy, but they have a good time. I ordered the ones that came today about a month ago on back order at cabelas. 49.95 on sale from 54.95 and noticed the price is now 59.95 in fact they have raised their base price 2 times in the last 6 months almost across the board. so any way I will need to keep those cylinders for now ofitg.

the carbine

get a can of 777 3f and 454 lead cowboy bullets and get down to the range and post some velocities I'm dying to know if you get a large gain over a 8 in barrel, please tell me you have a chrono..........I cant find the ballistics published anywhere, let me know if you ever wanna trade somthing fer it.:D

1488 FPS with .457/143 grains round ball (full chambers of Swiss1 black powder)...

I love mine... :)

I got one of those out of Cabela's bargain cave and tossed a gated Kirst Konverter and ejector rod at it since the gun was priced so I wouldn't mind grinding the loading port. It's one of my favorites for sure.

It is my favorite bp gun... it is the most acurate repeating bp gun I have... and it is the most powerful (even my walker can't compete...)

And it is the exact (except for the cylinder) replica of the n°34 from remington...

I'm not much of a Remmie fan but THAT looks nice!!

I just don't know if I want my kisser that close to the thing when it goes off though. Although one of these days I'm sure I'll find an 1860 with a stock that pleads for me to take her home.

1400+fps YIKES!!! You just embarrassed a BUNCH of 9mm shooters!!

I don't think 777 is stronger than swiss1 black powder... I can't even compare, as there is no way to buy 777 near my home.
(swiss 1 is 40% stronger than other bp brands...)

Tinpan 58 very nice looking rifle it is good to know others like these things. I have an older one on the way to me and I can't wait to try it out. I had a look at it at the range but didn't shoot it. Here is a picture of it with some of my other guns:
