While I am in the mood to post pictures.

I just picked this up yesterday. Found it while on my usual gun store crawl. I like US military firearms and if I find one that I don't have and example of and I can afford it, I have no resistance and will usually pick it up.

Such was the case yesterday when I found this 1903 Springfield MKI in original condition. Most of these were put back into regular service and the unique MKI parts were removed. Somehow this one managed to survive without being altered and still has all it's original parts. Years ago I had one in similar condition, but in a fit of extreme stupidity, I sold it.

Ejection port cut out in receiver with the stock relieved to clear the port.

It has the correct spindle and cut off as well as the correct WJS cartouche.

As well as the correct trigger.

It fits in well with my other 1903 Springfields, top to bottom:
1906 Springfield '03
1918 Springfield '03
1919 Springfield '03 MKI
1934 Springfield '03
1942 Remington '03 (modified)
1943 Smith-Corona '03-A3
1943 Remington '03-A3
