Justice officials in "Panic Mode" over failed Gun Program

A couple of questions

Does anyone here find it interesting how the lower level ATF field agents are responding to F&F directly bucking ATF management?

Also, has anyone noticed that the "thin blue line" at the FBI hasn't been broken?

FBI was involved. NICS checks at a minimum. Think about that one for a few minutes. Felons were given a pass. How did they know who and how often? I really wonder if all felons were given carte blanche at certain gun stores, cities, or states? Was it just certain individuals? How did they choose one over another? Did they have a list before this started? Could the database have been altered? The more I think about this one the more questions it raises.

Holder has taken the U. S. Justice Dept. so deep into the gutter, I'm surprised there have not been more resignations by asst. U. S. attorneys, out of disgust. Right now there is a cloud of shame hanging over that department. Disgraceful.

The name Department of Justice seems to be an oxymoron these days, doesn't it?

Not saying the above story is inaccurate, but at this point there is a whole lot less evidence of imporpiety concerning the DEA and cocaine when compared the the ATF and firearms. As of now, the ONLY "evidence" (and rthats an extremely liberal use of the word "evidence") is coming from the defense team of a drug trafficker They are PAID to create any sort of doubt as to the guilt of their client. That would certainly include making things up about the DEA to attempt to divert attention. I'm not saying that the DEA didn't take part in such an operation, but much more evidence would need to come forth before I could wholly believe it. With Fast and furious, the evidence is overwhelming....in regards to the alleged importation of tons of cocaine with DEA approval and assistance.....well, not so much

I seem to remember something about a CIA rendition flight that crashed with coke on board a couple years ago. Anyone? Anyone?

Mexican Narco-Trafficker’s Revelation Exposes Drug War’s Duplicity

Trail of Government Intrigue Leads Back to Cocaine Jet That Crashed in Mexico’s Yucatan

The Gulfstream II sported a tail number, N987SA, linked by European investigators to past CIA rendition operations.

Onboard that jet was an estimated four tons of cocaine, which appears to have been loaded onto the jet in Colombia
A CIA asset named Baruch Vega, who was a key player in those undercover operations

The acting head of ATF (the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) has seemingly blown the cover of both DEA and FBI informant operations in order to spare his own neck and to deflect blame away from a badly flawed operation undertaken by his own agency.

Let us hope that the corruption does not run as deep as many would like to indicate.

The CIA should know. The relationship between the CIA and the anti-Zetas cartels goes back some twenty years. The former Guadalajara Cartel, Mexico’s top narco traffickers in the 1980s, was protected by Miguel Nassar Haro, Chief of Mexico’s Dirección Federal de Seguridad. Haro was a CIA asset. Most of the territory formerly dominated by the Guadalajara Cartel was taken over by the Sinaloa and Gulf Cartels, both blood enemies of Los Zetas

Sidetracking, I apologize, but Gary Webb wrote a series of articles about CIA cocaine trafficking in the 80's if anyone is interested. Shortly afterward, he comitted suicide by shooting himself... TWICE, in the head

hahahaha Wow must have had a good double pop trigger!

Blowing the whistle on Gov misbehavior "is" a form of suicide. It seems to be growing in popularity lately.

Need to stay on topic or this thread will be shut down before the final curtain falls. Surprised it has lasted as long as it has.

IMO, that's partly true.
I think having them in the ATF building where they can keep a leash on them when they get called in by Issa as they have done with other witnesses (not allowing them to show up when called by the committee) is more likely.

This seems to happen pretty often with the "botched" operations, where no one goes to prison, no one gets fired. They get promoted for a job well done. I guess it is true that they risked prison time by authorizing/ordering/coordinating felonies, so maybe they do deserve the promotion. It can't be easy.

Now we get to see if there are any consequences for that.

NewsCore) - Three supervisors of the US government's controversial anti-gun-running program "Fast and Furious" were promoted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) despite continued criticism of their actions, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.

Play ball and get your rewards..don't play and you will never work again? Is that a possible scenario; surely not?

I just spent a little time reviewing what happened in the aftermath of Ruby Ridge and Waco. No punishments, just promotions, except of course for those inside the Dept.s that criticized the way things were handled. By the way I am referring to both the BATF and the FBI.
Looks like they will do the same again, after all, who will stop them.

hahahaha Wow must have had a good double pop trigger!

It was a .38 revolver. It's too bad, he could have displaced Jerry Miculek as the revolver speed shooting champ if he hadn't become so depressed about exposing the CIA.

Back on topic (again), it's clear that these criminal.. er I mean public servants- will continue operating like this as long as the staus quo continues.
Most people have already forgotten about it. It's sad what has happened to our great republic.
