Can someone give me a "felt in my hands" compare and contrast of the recoil from a Kahr P40 vs another .40SW semi auto?

I'd especially like to hear (if possible) from women, or people of smaller frame and smaller hands..

Well, my small-framed wife can shoot my Kahr P9 Covert (with the slightly shorter grip) just fine... even with 124 +P loads. I have every faith that she could handle a P40 with a full length grip and 165 Gr loads with very little trouble.

Honestly, it's harder for my wife to rack the slide than it is for her to handle the recoil and stay relatively on target.

I find the P40 to have surprisingly less snappy recoil than a larger, heavier pistol. Bigger .40 guns seem to give more of a jerk straight back. Even though the Kahr is smaller and lighter, the recoil seems longer duration but less snappy. Like a .45 vs 9 mm to a lesser degree. But that's just my opinion and I'm not the women, or people of smaller frame and smaller hands that you were asking. Any of you people want to speak up?

The Kahr might need longer to align for a second shot then a bigger gun, I haven't timed the recovery, but .40 is a powerful round, and the Kahr is a sweet CCW.

The grip on the Kahr K/P/E series guns is AMAZING! Its very very well designed and fits more hands than it has a right too! The gun will have pretty stout recoil...there's just no getting around it...its inherent!

My old K40 used to intimidate my shooting buddies...these guys would shoot my 357 Snubs and shy away from my Kahr.

I took my son with us on one shoot...he was 7 at the time. He was an avid shooter and was quite good..all things considered. What my buddies didnt know is he had shot my K40 ALOT...like 300 rnds worth.

The time came when they shy'd away from it and I handed it to my son, who massacred a red ant hill with very accurate rapid fire from the gun.
They didnt shy away from it anymore after that......... :D

If he can handle it.........Id say most people can.

Shoot well.........
