My primary carry is a Walther P99c and I love the gun, awsome trigger and very accurate, however, I want a smaller 9mm than the P99c and read the specs on the Kahr PM9.

The P99c is a little thick and heavy for a pocket carry but I'm thinking based on the pm9 specs it would be a better pocket gun.

My only concern is DAO trigger which I have never been a fan of.

What do you think of the Kahr PM9?

I have a PM9. Carry it often.

It is accurate and well made. Never a malfunction. I use an extended mag as I do not shoot it real well with only two fingers on the grip. It is great with the extended magazine. It is actually more fun to shoot than you would think about such a little gun. This is important since you practice enough.

If I had my druthers I would trade it for a P9. It is the virtually the same dimensions except the grip.

.91 inches thick make it VERY easy to conceal. If I can't carry one of my D Frames I have the PM9.

The DAO trigger is very nice. Smooth like a j-frame but with a shorter pull. Plenty good for CCW combat ranges, and with some practice can be much better.

I don't like Kahrs sights much. And would recommend Dawson for replacements. Black rear and the thinnest front FO they have. The thin front sight makes it easier to se if your twitching left or right while pulling the trigger.

Mine is 100%, very accurate for the short sight radius it has and felt recoil is surprising light.

Mine came with Tru Dot night sites that work very well for me.

The one I USED to have was a POS even after a trip back to Kahr. I think that was an exception though. Brings to mind, where's Jocko? He used to always chime in, especially on the PM9's. I havn't seen him on here for months.

I like mine a lot. Easy to shoot and easy to shoot accurately (at SD distances) for such a small gun - much easier than my Kel-Tec PF9. Trigger is smooooooth as butter. A bit of a long reset but that probably won't be an issue in a high-stress situation for most people.

I carry mine in a pocket holster or a modified CrossBreed QwikClip. I modified the QwikClip to make it smaller. Carrying this way, I literally have forgotten that I'm carrying the PM9.

Here's a gratuitous pic ...

I'm wearing mine as I type this, wouldn't trade or sell it, as it's been a great concealment pistol. Several people I've had shoot it, all say the same thing to some extent, "I'm supprised that it's so managable, thought it would kick more, for such a small pistol". LM

I've got one of the early ones and it didn't even know what a break in was. Shot flawlessly from day one, never had any problem, very little recoil. It's one of three Kahrs I have. I believe in them.

I love mine.

It is the easiest firearm to conceal that I own.

It will limp wrist easily (just like a glock due to light weight and serious caliber), so pay attention to your hold techinque.

It is extremely accurate.

It has proven to be very reliable after the break in period. For years I did not have time to do the break in period, so instead used my jframe.38 for every day carry.

IF you do not mind investing time for the break in period, to perfect your grip with in then it is an outstanding carry gun.

I think that you will be hard pressed to find a gun that is more concealeable and that fires a service cartridge with the degree of accuracy that the Kahr is capable of.

With practice it is an outstanding conceal carry gun.

I had one, using it as a pocket gun when I did not wish to put on a belt and holster for a larger gun, or sometimes as a backup. It did require a trip back for repair but was reliable after that.

Agreed. There is nothing else on the market that combines these attributes.

Mine runs perfect. Like others said, don't limp wrist it though. I carry mine most in a FIST thin kydex pocket holster. I added a Pearse grip extension so my pinky has somewhere to grip.

I jusewd to carry a Glock 36 but found it was difficult to conceal relaibly at all times. I finally opted for a Kahr PM-9. My Kahr PM-9 has been totally relaible and readilly concealable in a pocket holster. As a bonus it is remarkably accurate for such a short barreled pistol - i can easilly place 7 shots within a 3 inch circle at 7 to 10 yards.

I am a PM9 owner. I am soon to be a former PM9 owner. It kept having failures to feed every couple of magazines or so. I had 3 or 4 other people shoot it with the same problem (so it wasn't a shooter-induced problem). Sent it back to Kahr and they said they couldn't replicate the problem...so too bad for me. I'm out the $65 shipping and will still have a broken gun. Thanks for nothing Kahr.

As soon as it gets back to me I'm getting rid of it. I know I'm in the minority of folks who have had problems with their Kahr, but I can't trust my life or the lives of my family to it anymore.

PM9

well there you have it. the normal 4 out of five owners that are ok with them after running flawlessly out of the box, or 200 rounds of successful break-in, or successful after a trip to the factory.
I was one who had a problem child, sent it to the factory, came back fixed with replaced parts and then put 250 rounds through it of various vendors ammo. I wouldn't hesitate to pocket carry it and have thought about bringing it out of the safe, putting 50 rounds through it and carrying it.....but when I walk out the door into the pocket goes the MP 340 J Frame....or the Seecamp .380 hence it remains number three on my pocket carry list and it hasn't made the carry rotation in a long long time......but.....I don't have any plans to sell it either. I like it too much.

Mine has been trouble free. A great pocket carry in cargo pants. Too big for jeans, at least drawing while seated. Not a problem with cargo pants.

Great carry gun. I'm not willing to downgrade to anything less than 9mm so the PM9 is the best option I found. It has been reliable since day one, even through the break in period. It is very accurate and has a nice trigger pull.
I'd buy it again.

I want one......but not $600+ want one.
If I find a nice used one for around $400 I will buy it, until then I will be pocket carrying my LCP and SP101.

There's nothing wrong with the Kahr. But if you like the P99 -- and there's good reason that you should; it's the real deal -- you might want to give some serious consideration to the Walther PPS. It, too, is the real deal, IMO.

I bought one thinking it would replace my .380s as a pocket gun. Not so much, it's a bit too big. But, it makes a great IWB gun. My wife claims it as her future CC gun. That's fine by me, it's a great gun. It gave me a few problems in the first 50 rounds (FTF, FTE) but after that the next 150 rounds were perfect.

It's actually a fun gun to shoot, even though it's so small. It's also very accurate and one of the best looking polymer guns I've ever seen (SS version). I think it could be a replacement for 007's PPK. ;)
