Kansas: Permitless Carry Law Takes Effect Today (July 1 2015)

Just a reminder that on July 1 2015 is when permit-less carry in Kansas took affect. SB 45 was signed into law back on April 7 2015 by Governor Sam Brownback.

(I know today is July 3 but I just saw the article......)

"Authored by Senate Majority Leader Terry Bruce (R-34) and carried in the House of Representatives by Representative Travis Couture-Lovelady (R-110), SB 45 recognizes Kansans’ freedom to legally carry a concealed firearm without the requirement of acquiring a Kansas concealed carry handgun license (CCHL)."

I'm very happy for all Kansans. I'm sure very many of you thought that this day would never come. And it's appropriate, arriving just before the 4th of July Independence Day celebration.

And thank you,Midwest, for reminding us.

Big change for sure. When I was an LEO there in the 1990s, there was no legal concealed carry at all.

I'm assuming that after 4 days there are rivers of blood in the streets as those against 'constitutional carry' predicted...

Strange that the news outlets are so silent about the carnage...

Cause and effect, huh? What if you weren't going in to get a refund on a shirt? What about that kind of situation, huh?

Say, can we Coloradans rent your Governor Sam Brownback to be our governor for a year or so? And maybe your Legislature, too?

Just for a year. That ought to do it.

You are missing my point which is no one reacted to me carrying a gun setting aside the media hype and controversery about open carry over the streets running red with blood from gunfights.

There was no cause and effect on getting a refund. Since I had my purchase receipt I would have asked to speak to a Manager which is the correct action for all mature people and the store's refund policy.

As a mature adult I am responsible for my actions whether I am armed or not. In fact to advance our cause for open and concealed carry it is important, no a priority, that I am more courteous than other customers.

The long road to gun rights in Kansas was the result of a lot of hard work and organization by gun owners, pro-2a supporters and politicians. The Governor was just the final step.

From all the comments one hears when in "The People's Republik of Lawrence" I'd guess they would be glad to send both to you in Colorado.

The good citizens of Lawrence have forgot about the attack in 1856 by Border Ruffians that robbed and burned homes and businesses and Quantrill’s raid in 1863 which left 175 residents dead.

Of course terrorists could never attack Lawrence again could they?

Everybody was already killed off a few years ago when NFA Title II items became allowed, just as the media predicted at the time.
