Uh,haven't posted on here in a while...been pretty busy.

Went shooting and the receiver cracked on the Kel-Tec SU-16C

had it for about a year and a half...only ever shot .223 through it.No more than 400 rds.

From what has been posted before, sending it in for repairs is apparently the long way to your fix. If you think you can replace the receiver yourself, just call them up and they will ship it right out. Either way, they will make good on it.

However, I'd be interested to see a picture of the damage if you could post one. Where in the receiver is this crack?

I'm curious as well. Both of my PLR's (same receiver) are holding up just fine, even with warmer handloads.

And as he said, KT will take care of you. Though I'm not sure if they'll send you a receiver like they do with the grip frames on the pistols, since on the SU/PLR it's the numbered part. Might have to send it in.

Sounds like something that Kel-Tec will fix.

I've seen posts of broken recievers, seems like the op rods sometimes arn't staked properly to the bolt lenghtening the assembly and causing the bolt to slam agaist the rear of the reciever and breaking it there.

Here's a Kel-Tec forum, it's a very good information source.

Send it to Kel-Tec. They'll replace it at no charge.

A lot of older KT-SU16's had that problem. Hasn't really come up on KTOG recently. Maybe they're quality control is dwindling to meet the never-ending demand?

well theres your problem right there...you bought a kel-tec afterall.

Careful. Or Nutnfancy will make a review of your post. It will be ten minutes longer than it needs to be.

Yeah,it cracked in the back of the receiver...

It's actually my dads and not mine seeing that I'm only 15.I have some guns that I payed for but he had to do the transfer sine I'm not old enough.

He bought the Kel-Tec just cause he wanted a small lightweight semi-auto and didn't want to spend a ton of money because he had just bought an AR-10 the same day.

He's going to send the Su-16 back to Kel-Tec sometime. We'll see how it goes.

I made fun of him for buying the kel-tec because it broke when we went shooting and we had to shoot the AK the rest of the day.

I was just joking though...Though it broke it seemed to be a pretty nice rifle.

Kel-Tecs are fine guns, for people who dont appreciate quality firearms.

You get what you pay for, like everything else.

We have nice guns as well, not everything is cheap.

We have Stuff from S&W,DPMS,Savage,Tikka, all the way down to a cheap AK, Yugo SKS.

We figured we had guns that served most of our purposes such as self defense and hunting so we would just get some fun range toys (I know they aren't toys)
Just some stuff that's fun to shoot in calibers that won't break the bank as bad.
