If you own or were to purchase a Sub 2000 in .40 cal what magazine would you go with? I shoot Springfield pistols so I don't have a pistol mag preference.

What's the general thoughts on the Keltec Sub? I'm looking at one for fun plinking and maybe shooting some pistol caliber carbine steel plate shoots but nothing to serious.

You can't go wrong with a Glock mag version, their mags are relatively inexpensive and they work.

I've got a first gen 9mm Glock version, lots of fun and...... it folds. Trying fitting any other pistol caliber carbine in a lap top shoulder bag for inconspicuous carry.

I also went with the Glock mag version (1st gen as well).

That's the route I'd recommend.

As for the Sub-2000, it travels well. I have mine stored in a laptop case (Speedo66, I guess my clever idea isn't so orignal) along with two 33 round magazines.
I shoot it well, but my CX4 has replaced it in all but travel. In general, they're plenty accurate and reliable.

Glock mags all the way,

If you decide to go for a 9mm sub2000 you can run magpul glock pattern mags, they seem just as reliable, I’ve been using them in 3 gun matches and have had zero issues, and they are really cheap

I went with Glock mags. They are cheaper than all the other options, especially now that police departments are trading in their Glock 22s. I’ve seen boxes of used Glock 22 mags at gunshows for as little as $10.

The retail prices reflect this: if you look at most online vendors the Glock version is most likely to be sold out and is usually priced a few bucks higher due to demand.

Glock mags all the way for me. I had a Gen 1 in .40 that took Glock 22 mags, it was fun but sold it when I needed money and it was my only .40. When I had a chance to buy a Gen 2 that took Glock 19 mags I jumped on it and haven't had a single issue. Very fun gun that is surprisingly accurate for what it is.

I had one in 9mm using Glock magazines. I wanted the one that used Glock mags because of the availability in my area. The design is unique for it's folding capability into a small package that makes it great for storage and quick deployment. The problem with the design is that I had to force my cheek tight against the stock extension to be able to use the sights. After a few shots my cheek hurt and I had to stop shooting. No matter how I positioned my face it was the same problem. I had a red dot sight that worked well but defeated the gun's ability to fold. Great idea, just didn't work for me.

I’m left handed and the real problem I encountered with mine was blowback from the ejection port into my face. A couple of magazines were about all I could stand to shoot. Mine is a version 2 so I solved the problem by mounting a section of rail on the left side and mounting my red dot on a 45 degree base. That allows me to shoot “gangster style” with the gun tilted 45° and the ejection port facing downward. I don’t end up wearing blackface anymore and it still folds for storage.

I bought this inexpensive tube cover, works well. Rubber cover mitigates recoil on tube, also helps in the cold. http://www.tacticoolproducts.com/sub-2000bolttubecover/

I tried one of those tube covers and it did help but I still had trouble getting in position to see through the sights. I really liked the little rifle but I eventually sold it. The replacement rear sight that Taurus 617 mentioned might have been the answer to my problem but I didn't know about it at the time. Maybe I'll try another one with the replacement sight.

Yes, lefty here too, ejection port can be a problem, especially, I found, with Wolf steel cased ammo. Very dirty, and I was getting sparks in my face and near my eyes. Changing to another brand helped, but not 100%. I put up with it because I do enjoy the gun otherwise.
