I'm not usually much of a fan of knives with this blade shape, but it's a well-priced frame lock that only looks like it's double edged. I decided to give it a shot.
When I received the Decimus, I was surprised at the blade-to-handle ratio. The handle is fairly generous for a folder, while the blade is actually a nice, useful size for daily carry.

The Decimus is more useful for SD than I had originally expected, because your fingers don't have to move far to be in a useful position.

The lock is very positive and audible.

I have used the Decimus to open a few packages. The factory edge wasn't shaving sharp, but quite workable out of the box. It's worked well so far.

I think the Decimus will be purchased by quite a few people because they like its look, but that it will have some staying power because of its reasonable cost, strong lock, and useful size and blade.

Thanks for the nice review. I'd dismissed this model because of the assisted opening, which I've personally lost interest in for the most part. I'm glad you're finding it to be a well made piece. Even though it's made in China, it's nice to see a knife at this price point from a US based company, with US customer support, competing with the fully foreign brand imports. The fact that it's an American designer collab on top of that is a nice bonus.

What do you think of the guards that are integral to the blade tang? I've always liked that the flipper tab on most flipper opening knives provides a fairly solid lower finger guard.

I do like guards, and these are pronounced without being obtrusive. I could potentially see situations where they could interfere with some delicate work, but they are attractive and functional for what most buyers will be using the Decimus for: SD and daily tasks.
