Around a year ago, possibly two years ago, I saw ads that Kimber was introducing a polymer framed, double stack DAO pistol in .40 cal. I can't remember the exact name they were giving it, but it had something to do with self-defense or CCW. It was not related to the 1911 design (at least, no more than a Glock or XD is related to a 1911). I can't find any info on this pistol in Kimber's website now, nor on a quick search of THR. I'm guessing it was cancelled before any were sold. Does anyone know the status of this pistol?
