West Virginia Knife Law Preemption Passed - On To Governor

West Virginia SB 96 that would expand the state's firearms preemption statute to include "deadly weapons," including knives, was passed by the House 81-17. It now heads to Governor Jim Justice for his consideration.

Preemption prevents enforcement of existing local knife ordinances, and prohibits new ordinances, more restrictive than state law which only serve to confuse or entrap law-abiding citizens traveling within or through the state.

Wow, y'all are doing more with less than firearms groups have done recently. Good job.

Agreed! KR, has "done more with less" than just about anyone. The successes can't continue with the shoestring they operate on since beating New York cost millions and we still have the hardest states to go. My cynical rule is the 80-20 Rule. The last 20% progress takes far more than the first 80% of progress that got you there. Too many times it takes far far more to cover that last 20% of the way to the win. Since Knife Rights is principally funded through grass roots their great strength is through a small dedicated team (really 3 people) and the volunteers who help them.

The more help we provide them the better they can do the ugly work needed so every dollar sent to them counts for a lot more than with high overhead operations.

I personally donate over a hundred hours a year to KR and hundreds of dollars.
