This is one of the most unusual looking firearms to hit the market in a while that is for sure. The Kriss Super V CRB is based on the Kriss submachinegun.

http://usmilitary.about.com/od/weapons/a/kriss.htm

The action is unique and the price tag heavy, most examples bringing well over the MSRP which is well over $1800. Once you add tax and a extended spare mag you are over $2K. Found this yesterday at the gunshow in Columbus OH. Been wanting one a while so I bit the bullet (all puns intended). Attaching an article so you can read up on the details on the rather unique action. She uses Glock 21 magazines and Vector offers extensions to make those close to thirty rounds, but she is a thumb buster to get close to that. Even with the Uplula I stopped at 28 rounds.

A pistol version is also available, but I have yet to see one at a show or shop.

We have some light rain coming down so I won't get to shoot her today. I got these shots before the clouds cut loose.

I have been looking at these for a couple of years now but just can't take the plunge for that price tag. I would be very interested in some follow up after you have some time to test it out. I am curious if the recoil system works as well as they advertise.

I am too and certainly want to shoot her some before I deck her out with any other accessory. I had a spare Knights grip so I put that on it, lights and optics will have to wait for now.

I have fired one of these at a range day put on by a local shop. They are smooth recoiling.

The only way I personally would want one though is if it was an SBR and Suppressed.

I've read a number of places where folks have had problems with them feeding. Apparently mostly confined to first gen rifles, but others have noted issues with more recent ones too.

I was interested a few years ago, but after doing a bunch of research on the net I figured I could find a bunch of other things for the same money, that would be more reliable.

cool score, shot one at my local range yesterday very unique firearm. it shoulders up nicely...until I noticed I was grabbing the barrel for support (long arms) with the vg will help allot, its light weight shooting the .45acp still has some kick but I mostly noticed goin straight back transfering to shooter, muzzle rise almost non-existent:cool:. after shooting it...to be honest if I had the cash I would definitely buy one, one of the most unique designs that ever came out in a while....hope someday they will have a 9mm version

Had one for a couple months. It had to go back to the factory in the beginning because of a FTF problem. They fixed it and told me somehow a 'experimental' bolt had mistakenly been put in the gun. In the end I sold it because no matter which ammo I used, accuracy beyond 40 yards was very poor (like 4" or larger groups).

Local shop used to stock them, and had 2 in their rental fleet. Both their rentals blew up, along with a few customer guns. Wear your eye protection!

Very pointless gun as a semi IMHO. They make for a giant pistol, but only shoot .45, and still only as fast as you can pull the trigger. Lots of better guns for that.

As a rifle, they're just awkward, and it's still a .45 that shoots less accurately than a basic $600 AR, which shoots .223, a real rifle round. As an SBR, you're starting to get close to not useless, but still far from practical.

If you enjoy is as a novelty, sweet! But seriously, wear your eye protection!

I have a number of AR, FAL, G3, AK, AUG, etc... pattern guns and this was bought for fun. I have to disagree about it having no use. If you live in an apartment building or urban setting where homes are close and where overpenetration would be a concern this would be a fine home defense arm for repelling thugs. I would not want to be on the receiving end of one.

I've handled one, although not shot it, and wasn't particularly impressed. Especially in semiauto, it's totally pointless. Lots of better uses for $2k, IMO.

I agree. They look very cool and the concept is interesting, but i would rather get a MP5 clone or a PS 90.

Though I don't buy into the hype of the Kriss design, yours appears to be someone one can have a lot of fun with.

Variety is the spice of life, they say. My "variety" would be an FN P90, but I don't think that's ever going to happen.

The recoil reducing mechanism is a cool in full auto but I don't really see the point in semi, outside of novelty. Reliability also seems to be an area of concern. As a fun collector gun though I think it's a great item and let's be honest, that's what many of our guns really are. I was looking at one but decided to do a HK USC to UMP conversion instead.

Recoil system does work, but I found it an ungainly gun to handle or carry.
Hope it works out for you.

The pistol version is totally pointless beyond its curiosity/toy value.

I have one of these too. Unfortunately FN brought the pistol in to the US first so the ammo available to us is rather lame in comparison to what Law Enforcement can get.

Can't stand this gun, over priced and stupid IMO. Just like most other semi auto subguns

I do not see the value in these. The SMG was on its way out after WWII militarily, while many nations designed and built large quantities after the war,the Battle rifle and Assault rifle were the dominant platforms, the SMG was a stop gap arm to equip armies with something, low in cost easier to build.

In the LE world they were used by SWAT teams primarily(1980s forward)Thompsons,M3A1s,Reisings,S&W 76s,locked up in th PD Armory saw little use for decades. LE never really embraced heavy fire power after the 1920s/30s. Since the 1997 North Hollywood bank shootout it became clear that PDs needed rifles and carbines AGAIN,like their predecessors did 70-80 years ago,on the street in patrol units and not just SWAT.

I do not see what KRISS was thinking in that SMG use has a very small user base now days. Ruger found this out the hard way with their SMG and so did Steyr, its an AR15 world now.

The early KRISS models looked like more like a tool room prototype than a finished production model. I found them lackluster in handling and ergonomics, the MP5 is a better weapon.

As a taci-kool civi gun, well if people like them and they sell, have at it.

A 5.56 platform is way more versatile.

Couldn't see owning it unless its full auto with a can. Here's a shot if me having some fun at a CQB class.
Count the brass in the air!

For the price, it really seems to me a good candidate to go ahead and get it set up as a SBR suitcase gun. Because that would be fun, and the barrel on the regular model just looks too long.

Do you have that email/letter?

Dear sir - our quality control is so bad, that we were experimenting around with a different shape of bolt, and Joe came in & was putting guns together, & he just grabbed this bolt from a totally different part of the factory, and we really appreciate you doing our R&D for us, and thank you for telling us that it doesn't work. !!!!!!!

Very cool gun, and the price doesn't seem out of whack to me, it's a limited production item with some interesting design components. Of course I have a HK USC and think it's just fine for the money too.

If I could have the f.a. version at a reasonable price, I'd consider buying it. However, just don't see the point of buying a semi-auto .45acp "rifle". FWIW, I use the KRISS mags in my G21. KRISS recommends only loading 28 rounds.

I sold mine on GB. It was a fun gun, but not very accurate past 25 yards. I was nice to have as a "cool" gun to whip out, but kinda pointless. I have a PC4 and PC9 which are TONS more fun to shoot and the accuracy is much better. I funded both those Rugers with Kriss...
