KY Knife Preemption Legislation

Kentucky Knife Law Preemption Bill Filed
Kentucky state Senator Robin Webb has introduced a Knife Rights Knife Law Preemption bill, BR 384, for the 2014 session. BR 384 would repeal all existing local knife regulations and prohibit any future knife regulations, making state knife law supreme over the entire state. It also specifically provides that parties may sue to enjoin any violations of the new preemption law. It's worth noting that the annual Knifemaker's Guild show is held in Louisville.

Thanks for the info, I was under the impression that those who had the CDWL (Concealed Deadly Weapons License) was able to legally carry concealed any kind of concealable weapons including knives and firearms.

CDWL (Concealed Deadly Weapons License) was able to legally carry concealed any kind of concealable weapons including knives and firearms.

The objective is to not require having any sort of license or permit to carry any sort of knife.

I will try to explain within the rules on THR to the best of my ability. If I screw up its on me.

The first post I saw was in relation to the Phil Robertson issue. The article was talking about how bad he screwed up and that Kershaw would be pulling the new DD line. He went on and on and turned very political. I found it to have no factual proof of anything. And the worst of all there was no "truth about knives". It seemed to be the typical rant blog against the things I don't like. It turned me off.

Tankless, I didn't like his stance on the Robertson issue either, but I kept reading through his posts. He's very supportive of the Knife Rights legislative efforts, and is helping get the word out on that.

In the fine print of concealed weapons license carry rules of SD the permit is only valid for a handgun unless it has changed in the last 15 years and I doubt that. If you have a hunting knife covered by your jacket which would be appropriate during several months of hunting seasons we have you can be arrested for concealing a dangerous weapon. If you have a States Attorney wanting to climb the ladder you are royally screwed. Know your local laws to the 10th degree.
