I want to scope an AR which has a fixed front site, as well as a rail and a backup iron rear sight. I have a Leupold Vx2 3-9 scope lying around from another project, and wanted to at least get the gun going with more than iron sights for now, while I contemplate a bigger scope.

Would this setup work with the LT104 QD, the Leupold 3-9x, and this rifle? I've been reading different opinions about how people see the front sight blurred in the scope at lower magnification vs not at all, cheek weld, eye relief.

Thanks!

I have that scope mount on my hunting AR.

Mine’s a flat top though.

If remember correctly on lower magnification if you have the front sight flipped up you do see a blur on the 6 o’clock portion of the scope. I’d have to pull it out later to see though.

So true, got my scope mounted and it works great, no blur or anything, amazing how the light knows to bend around it... I haven't played with removing and remounting to check zero yet.

I have a Leupold VX-R 2-7x33 on my AR-15 that has a fixed front sight. The sight is visible at the very bottom of the scope at 2-3x but is very small and unobtrusive. It causes no problem for me.
