Well I know it’s a little late to post this. But I was business; anyways, I shot my M91/30 Mosin for Memorial Day. It’s a ‘40 Tula, I added some wrap I had leftover from my M70 that I added to it and plan on adding some wire wrap to the exposed parts of the HG. Plan on putting brass tacks to the stock but I wanna learn how so I don’t goof it up. What y’all shot on Memorial Day?

I'd probably take the tape off and just shoot it as-is. Looks like a good condition rifle.

The finish should just be shellac and is extremely easy to fix. Amber shellac should match quite nicely. A little can of this (half-pint of amber) should be more than enough:

It's available almost everywhere.
ETA: I'd still fix the finish even if you're going to add the wrap.
