Congrats on your new HK purchase. I never met an HK that I didn't like. I am sure you will enjoy yours.

Sweet acquisition! Nice and compact along with HK quality; can't go wrong with that combination!

That's a good looking gun. Sure would like to hear how it shoots and how the trigger feels. Congrats.

I haven't had a da/sa pistol since my model 39-2 s&w in the 70's. So the trigger I'll have to relearn. I haven't had any stoppages yet but have only put 100 rounds of target ammo through it so far. It carries easy.

I've never owned an HK, but have shot several and believe they have the smoothest DA trigger I have ever shot. The followup SA shots were extremely smooth. I don't know anything about HK internals, but whatever they do to mitigate felt recoil is amazing. Congrats on a fine weapon!

Their recoil reduction incorporates a dual spring guide rod system. In the case of the full size USP the combination of this and weight make it a very soft shooting pistol.

Just got home from a range trip with my SK and a few similar pistols. The HK is tops... no doubt about it. I shoot from reset and I've come to really appreciate the trigger, (V3 as well). IMHO the best carry gun available. Shoots like a full size. I've had mine for about 10 years, never, ever a problem. Enjoy yours.

Depending on the model, some of them also use a plastic buffer as well.

I often ask, ones that know HKs more than me, if the plastic buffer can be taken out with no ill effects, can't seen to get the answer I would like, yes:)

I have the 40. The SA trigger is the best of all my non 1911 pistols. Long trigger reset compared to other guns but I don't notice it.

I've been trying to find a nice used one for a while, usually find them in .40 unfortunately.
Why because you don't want to get another caliber or the recoil ? the P-2000SK is a very soft shooter in .40, if that was your concern.

The great thing about HKs, they can be had lightly used for hundreds less than new. I'm thinking of getting a USP40c, I've seen them for sale on Armslist in the $500 range. I could have bought a USP40c a while back for $500 and let it go, I should have bought it.
