I'm looking for a vintage holster for a 1948 K frame S&W 38 with a 4" barrel.

I ran across a Lawrence rig online that looks nice but I'm not sure on their numbering system. It reads:

25
<logo>
22 32
4

Does it look like this would be an appropriate fit?

If 22 32 refers to Kit guns, it is for the J frame size. I have a 4" .22/32 Kit gun and it resembles a K frame until you compare them side by side. I don't know anything about Lawrence's numbering system, so this could be totally in left field...

The #25 style holster is Lawrences old school bread and butter snap strap open front side of trigger guard protective belt holster design from the raly 20th century. It works well with something like the S&W kit gun 4" as the other numbers identify. That holster needs some cleaning and waxing ! IT will NOT fit your K frame !

Well that's disappointing. Anybody know what the *proper* one for this gun would be?

I just went thru 4 drawers of holsters this week. I have a surplus of 4" K frame holsters. I have some real neat ones, Ill post pictures here on this thread in next couple days, if you see something that you like I'll figure what it would cost for priority mail and it's yours.

If you are right handled the Hume center on with thumb snap is like new and secure and quick Th left handed low slung Hume is a real fast draw rig. The Nelson Police holster is super secure . You are welcome to one or all . Just pay priority mail fee.
