My Lee die has the deprimer pin retracting into the die when using. I figured out how to unscrew the deprimer and get the pin to stick out where it should. I continued deprimer/resizer and the pin moved a bit.
So instead of messing around with it, I used my universal decapper to process the 500 pieces of brass.
So after it finished, I put back the decapper/sizer and started resizing. At this point, it wasn't the primers that was pushing the pin into the die, it was just the action of the resizing.
Has anyone had this issue, and if so, how did you correct it?
If it makes any difference, I was resizing 9x19 to 9x18 Makarov.

Silly as it sounds I had to tighten mine a few times.
Get them good and tight.
The first few times I didn't get them tight enough.
I used the box wrench sides of my combination wrenches and really torqued them down. Wish I could tell you how much as I'd hate for you to break anything but it was more than I initially thought.
I will say be careful but not too much.

I guess I'll have to put a disclaimer of using common sense, me not being responsible, do at your own risk etc...
If in doubt call Lee. Or call them if you're afraid of breaking anything.

In my experience, the collet nut holding the decapping pin/expander ball needs to be I'm-definitely-going-to-break-that tight. Roughing up the rod a bit helps, but I've always used a couple box end wrenches and really gorilla'd (sp?) it on there.

Remember, it's all hardened steel. I think you'd break your wrench before you stripped the die. Also, recall Lee will send you replacement parts for the cost of shipping.

When I'm reloading .45ACP, the pin will pop up when there's a problem (like, say, a .40 or 9mm case hiding inside the .45). It does it even when the nut that tightens it is very tight indeed. I think that's a good thing, as it's better than breaking the pin. I'm thinking you don't have the nut quite tight enough to begin with.

I just got a 9mm set. The pin was not set long enough to decap. So I took it apart and reset it. Then I had the same problem as you, so I tightened it. Still had the same problem, so I took my two wrenches and cranked the Sh*t out of it. Problem solved.

Don't be bashful, crank on it hard.

The Pinch Nut that holds the De-Priming Pin must be Tight, it holds the pin in place, if it is not tight enough, the pin slides up until there is very little contact.

You should use a 3/4" and 1/2" wrench to tighten the collet nut on the top. The pin should just be a tiny bit above flush. With correct wrenches tighten very firmly.
