Does anyone load 40 S&W on a Pro 1000? Using the small case slider the cases won't slide completely into the shell plate unless I push them in and they tend to tip coming out of the holder on occasion too. It seems the small slider is sized more for 380 or 9mm and the large slider is too tall for 40.

I was thinking about buying a 3-D printed slider from "3D Loader" on Ebay sized for 40. I bought a .223 slider from him and the quality is really nice. Since the #19 shell plate is used for both 9mm and 40 there is very little clearance on the sides for 40. The cases tend to tip just a little when they hit the opening and stop. If people are having success feeding in 40 it could be my small slider, as it was also a 3D printed one from Ebay but from a different seller and the quality wasn't as good. It had "threads" coming off it so I took a torch and heated the surface to smooth it up.

Your non-factory small slider could be the cause.

I use small slider, large case feeder and bent Z bar to load 40S&W on my Pro 1000s and do not have issue you are having.

Lee replaced small/large slider with universal slider - https://www.titanreloading.com/lee-case-slider-and-riser

Thanks for the links I'll check them out. Sounds like it's the slider. I'll check out the new one.

Edit: After watching that video, maybe getting a 3D printed one for 40 S&W isn't such a bad idea. I didn't realize the Loadmasters index to the next station so quickly. I'll bet it's hard to keep powder from spilling out of the cases with that press.

The new case slider was free when I went to check out on Lee's site, I just had to pay shipping so I paid for shipping and I'll see how it works.

Good Deal...
If the new slider doesn't work out you can always mod the old slider, like in the vid.
Let us know how things work out,
:D
