Hey all.
I am left handed (no "shoot righty" comments!), and want a .260/6.5 cartridge.
Remington will NOT sell me a rifle set up in .260...bastards, all they have to do is throw a .260 barrel on an SPS or CDL, but noooo.
Savage doesn't have the barrels, or they would do it.
Tikka has a 6.5x55, but I kinda want a short action.
Also, I have a preference for a detach box mag, and am not looking to build a high end custom gun. I will use this for within 600 yards...mostly target, and North American game (deer, varmints, etc).
I COULD buy any of the 3 rifles in, say 7mm-08, and rebarrel the action...Savage looks like the easiest, cheapest way to do this.
I like the Tikka because of the factory accuracy and light weight. The Savage is also very accurate, but much heavier. And of course the Rem 700 is a great gun too, and I'm an American made kinda guy.
I reload, but would like to be able to buy SOME factory ammo if need be, so this is why I was considering .260 Rem, 6.5x55, etc.
Any help, ideas, or suggestions?
THANKS!

I think either cz does it, or somebody around here, knows someone that rebbls cz's to 260.possibley on the rimfirecentral site, or the ar15 site.

Do you want bolt-action or would you consider a semi? If a semi is an option, look at the Stag Model 5L in 6.8SPC.

Heh, heh.
I just got done building a Stag lefty upper w/a Ko-Tonics barrel in 6.8 SPC. Nice gun, but I'm going for a bolt gun this time. I was actually considering building a lefty 6.5 Grendel AR upper, but modifying a 6.8 SPC bolt face to accept the 7.62 case was the issue.

i find it very easy to shoot right handed rifles left handed. in prone, it is very fast to work the bolt with your right hand. off prone is another story.

Take a look at the DPMS .260 rem upper or full AR. I'm seriously considering picking up an upper. Ballistics are impressive.
