Back to a previous question. What about when concurrent civil and criminal cases are in court questioning the same laws constitutionality and appealing both to Scotus are they kept a separate cases or combined into one?

Once again, it all depends on the exact circumstance. Maybe, because SCOTUS has decided that there is sufficient commonality of facts and legal issues, SCOTUS would decide to consolidate cases. That would be SCOTUS' call and would be made on a case-by-case basis.
