I have a question that maybe another Wisconsin resident might know the answer to:
Is it legal to target shoot in National, State, or Country forest land in Wisconsin? What about forest land owned by the power company in Upper Michigan?
We own property on the Michigan border across the menomonie river from marinette county. There are vast areas of country forest land across the river where I deer hunt, and one of the power companies owns a very large expanse of land on the Michigan side, which to the best of my knowledge is public land. Our lot is too small (2 acres) to safely shoot in and we have close neighbors, but a mile or two away in any direction you would be literally in the middle of nowhere.
I hunt on the Wisconsin side of the border on public land, but I have no clue as to what the rules are on target shooting outside of hunting season.
