Do any US law enforcement agencies have any of these as their standard issue:

1. Ruger
2. Taurus
3. CZ
4. Colt

Berettas, H&Ks, Glocks, Sigs, Kimbers, and Smith & Wesson are all issued, and I believe a Springfield or two. But what about these guys. They are popular, issued anywhere?

Mount Vernon, Illinois PD issues the Colt Stainless Officer's ACP. Has for at least 15 years. I think they have about 45 sworn officers.

Starting in 1978 and continuing through when I retired in 1987, my department issued the MKIV Series 70 Colt Government Model.

Don't know about now, but a few years back San Diego PD was issuing some form of Ruger semi-auto.

The PD I worked for issued S&W. Back in the 80's (when we still had revolvers) the motorcycle officers were issued SS Rugers due to the outside weather exposure. Didn't last long, a few years maybe and they switched back to S&W. Maybe it was "bid" issue, I don't really know. I haven't heard or seen any officers carrying Ruger or the others listed. Mostly S&W, Glock and Beretta.

I recently trained the Jaffrey, NH PD. As I recall, they issue Ruger 9mms.

Never heard of a department issuing Taurus or CZ, although I'm happy with my PT-145 Stainless Millennium Pro.
