OMG. I just had a nice long talk with him at the SHOT Show in Jan. I brought one of my real old school Pacific Cutlery butterflies to be sharpened and cleaned. They could only do about 150 a day. Every morning the first thing I did was go to the Benchmade booth, but I was never one of the first 150. Les saw me and introduced himself, and had one of his workers sharpen my knife then and there. We were able to have a nice long talk about the old days when he first started making knives, to the current state of the knife business, as well as how steels have changed over the years. He seemed 100% healthy, I can't believe he's gone. Here's a shot of me with Les at the show. God bless him, a very nice man, the world is a worse place without him. I'm glad he has his son to carry on. IMG_4299.JPG
