So I’m off for 4 days a week [deleted]. that makes me smoke more cigars and sit on patio with “cool” beverage. That in turn makes me look at guns I want. Model 10, Ruger match champion, and now the lipsey’s 5 inch blues 357 model no. 1768. It’s about as perfect 357 revolver as I could dream up. Barrel length, sights, action, grips.. best I’m seeing is around the 730.00 mark on prices. It would be pampered and a prize possession and probably get a Kramer holster along side the new king cobra. Who’s got one? Tell me all about it

Shoebox,

I have one of these and the only thing that I would have changed are the grips. I prefer the HOGUE monogrips on revolvers. The wooded one's are very nice and are very similar to a pair of ROPER grips I have on a S&W 19.

Me too!

I was going to collect the whole set but got distracted when they were available. I don't even know how many were produced. I did end up with the .44Spl and 10mm versions and like them very much. I also very much like the walnut Roper stocks that they shipped with but found an outlet to upgrade a bit.

Craig,

Pretty wood aside (and that is a huge aside - lol) I like your stocks better than the factory version with their speed-loader cut out on the wrong side. (smile)

Overall they're comfy but they really dropped the ball at the top of the grip. If you could redo the top third, they'd be perfect.

Never had a Ava Maria ethier! I’m a My Father man myself...
The Reconquista is good but I love the Argentum. So glad they came out with a bigger size. I've probably gone through five or six boxes of them in the last couple years.

5" is the magic size for handguns . both revolvers and bottom feeders. Buy it.
Keep in mind that in an autoloader, the length of the chamber is included with the barrel. Also, a revolver has a lot more mechanism behind the baae of the chambered cartridge.

For shooting, the five inch barrel is my favorite in a revolver. But not for concealed carry.

5 inch revolvers are most definitely where it's at! Best compromise for balance, packability, velocity and looks. While I'm not a .357 fan, if that's your gig, go for it, it's a great lookin' revolver. These two are in .45 Colt and .454 Casull.

I'm looking at your name, then at your pic, then back at your name.
Thinking the universe has found perfection.
Nice!

Oddly enough, the ODNR officially measures them the same, sans chamber.

If they measured breech to muzzle, I could get away with a 4" revolver. I'd really prefer a 4" over a 5" but the ODNR mandates 5". So instead of a nice svelte, great handling 629 Mountain Gun or 624, it'd be a notably bulkier 5" 629 Classic.

I can’t get excited about a Ruger DA revolver. I have tried and it doesn’t happen. That said, of all the guns I have seen recently, if I were to be buying a brand new DA revolver that was not a convertible Taurus 357/9/38, then it would be either a Lipseys 5” gp100 10mm or a match champion 10mm.

I can’t get excited about new guns though. Just can’t. So I buy old beat up guns and nurse them back to health.

Do you like the Dan Wesson 715? I like the gun, won't pay the price though.
