Here is a story we (CCW'ers) don't need right now:

Essentially, some doofus in Oregon left his gun behind in a movie theatre and it was found by two kids on a class outing the next day. Sadly, a nice classic Beretta 34 or 35 is probably going to be scrapped, but the owner is going to lose his CCW and that last part ain't all bad. Mistakes happen, but they can't happen with a gun and this guy didn't help our cause.

I worked with a cop that forgot his revolver behind the toilet after taking a crap in a public john. Fortunately, he retrieved it before anyone else found it. Not sure why he unholstered. So, it happens to cops, too. Not very bright ones, mind you, but we can't all be smart.

cops leave guns in public places on a regular basis. it is inevitable that LTC holders will do the same thing.

education and better equipment might help, but the reality is that sometimes a gun is not real comfortable to have hanging on your belt, and it might be better to just secure it somewhere rather than setting it down and forgetting about it.
