Great combo you've got there! Both are small, easy to use, and effective!

Thanks Bannockburn!

When I was a young man I worked in warehouses and as a shipping clerk. I got used to always having a large sturdy folding knife on me that I could open with one hand (such as when I was holding a box with the other). I learned to do that with a Buck knife, but it sure got a whole lot easier when the thumb-hole knives came out. I much prefer them to the stud opening kind. If I am not at work I always have a folding knife with me. It shouldn't be surprising that practically the first tool that humans invented would prove to be useful pretty often. :)

Same here with me as! Use to open and then cut up a lot of cardboard boxes back in those days. Appropriately enough I use to favor a Case medium Stockman knife for the job. I also liked Kabar and Schrade pocketknives for their overall quality and their very reasonable prices.

Here are a few of mine. I don't have a great camera or photo set up. Sorry about that but I think you will understand.

First a model 31-1 32 long with Shrade folder, next model 431PD 32 Mag with TDI knife, S&W model 39-2 with Robeson USN MK2, and last S&W model 34-1 flat latch with Ka Bar hunting knife that was my dads and is least 55 years old with a new sheath I just made. the old one was just rotted away.

A few more. Ruger 32 mag and Buck 110 I have two of these 32 mags. My grandads old single six made in 1961 with Buck 119. Ruger Super BH with custom knife given as a gift for some work I did. S&W model 10 6" barrel and an old knife I cannot make out anything but made in USA. I have the wood grips for the BH and model 10 but the Goodyears fit my hands better.

Well... no handguns, per se, in this photo... but the 1894 is in .41 Magnum. Knife is an Opinel from France, my TaeKwon-Do instructor had it made when he was over in France on one of his visits (he's from France,) it has my name engraved on the other side of the blade...

Super redhawk toklat , nice skinner from a small maker probably long gone. For camp or trail, mainly if i dont have the option of a rifle for size/weight reasons or legal reasons. - i know a lot of guys find the super redhawk hideous, it does look different but i didnt buy her for her looks. It has grown on me.
