I'm trying to set up a Marlin 336 with a short range scope for hogs, something for 30-75 yards. The Leupold VX-II 3-9x33mm EFR is marketed for rimfires, but I'm wondering if it would hold up to a 30-30. It has a parallax adjustment for ranges as close as 10 yds, which would be suitable for my purposes. What do you guys think? Thanks.

It will handle anything you can put it on.
They are made to the same standards as the high-power scopes.

Got to wonder if adjustable parallax is going to be that big a deal, or even worthwhile on a 30 - 75 yard hog hunting scope though.
A hogs shoulder is a lot bigger target then a squirrels eye.
A little parallax isn't going to be a deal breaker at that range.

I also think 3x-9x is too much power for your needs.
I'd go with a 1x-4x or 2x-7x for much more field of view at close range.

How about a shotgun scope?
They are set parallax free at closer range too, and have big reticules you can see in the deep dark woods.
