I have a request from a serviceman in Iraq for a light to go on his issue Beretta. I'm having trouble finding the mounts. Most of what i find looks like "one size fits most" crap. Is there one that is better? Does anybody know what the standard issue is?

I don't know about standard issue, but there is a 'clamp-on' style mount. It mounts onto the trigger guard. It was aluminum, black finish I believe, and was like $35 or so. It looked good, and I believe it was made specifically for the Beretta, so it was a much nicer looking mount than the universal ones.

Unfortunately, I cannot find the site that had it. It was a Cx4 Storm parts page. I'm at work, but if I remember, when I get home I'll look through my bookmarks and see if I tagged it.

Surefire makes a mount that goes on the M9. Brother has one and likes it rather well.

Insight also makes a mount that goes on the M9, gives you a rail to mount whichever light you would like.

A search on their sites should pull them up.

I'm looking at doing it myself soon and am leaning towards the Insight. Like the rail concept rather then the fixed light set-up that Surefire makes.

If you do a search for my name there should be an older thread that I started and got some good input to the two systems.

Dawson also makes a rail. However, it's bolted on and would be a NO NO on his issue gun, plus takes a gun smith.

Hope that helps some.
