Will the Limbsaver pad for regular 870 stocks fit the Speedfeed IV-S (reduced LOP) stock or is there a special version out there for that stock/reduced LOP stocks? I know there is one that fits as Remington has it on the 870P MAX.
I'm not sure if anything has changed, but a few years ago I bought an R3 pad for Synthetic remington stocks and it did not fit on my Speedfeed 2 stock. I would give either/both Davis and Limbsaver a call.
It won't fit and Limbsaver has no plans to make a pad for either version of the Speedfeed or Hogue synthetic stocks. They don't even have a good "grind to fit" pad for these stocks. To fit properly the pad needs a stub that goes inside the hollow stock to keep it aligned.
It would be possible to epoxy a plate of aluminum or wood onto one of the "grind to fit" pads to provide the stub but it seems like a lot of work.
This info is from conversations I had with people at Limbsaver within the past couple of months. If anything has changed I would like to know. I particularly like the Hogue stock on the 870.
